ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Born in Philadelphia and currently residing in New York City (via 4 years at Bucknell University), I grew up cheering for Reggie White, Ron Jaworski, Randall Cunningham, Ron Hextall, Mike Schmidt, Eric Lindros, and many other Philly sports icons of the last 30 years.  Clearly I’m an unabashed Philly homer.  I follow all sports but am most passionate about Football (Eagles), Hockey (Flyers), Baseball (Phillies) and Soccer (Manchester United).  I’ll occasionally watch Basketball (Sixers), but I prefer college Basketball (Duke) – it’s way more exciting and there is actually artistry to the way the college game is played.  I love the UFC and think boxing is dead.  I like watching Tiger Woods win, Jeff Gordon lose, Roger Federer dominate, and the Mets’ and Rangers’ yearly implosions.  I believe in the East Coast Bias (but let’s be honest: this country is centered on the Eastern seaboard).  I wish more owners were like Mark Cuban.  I think Rose, Bonds, McGwire, and Sosa all belong in the Hall of Fame.  I hope Lance Armstrong keeps pissing off the French.  I hate Sidney Crosby, the BCS, reality TV and the NHL television contract.  I still remember what it was like not to have a cell phone & what the world was like before Facebook.  I like 80’s music, Tom Waits, Metallica, Dave Matthews, Linkin Park, Guns N Roses, and Bruce Springsteen.  I think music today sucks in general but have immense respect for Jay-Z. I like my PS3, my 40 inch Samsung LCD TV, and my BlackBerry Storm (screw iphones).  I love dogs, Italian food, and Single Malt Scotch.  I’ve been to Russia and Scotland but not Hawaii.  My favorite quote is, “Things may come to those who wait but only what’s left by those who hustle.” (Abraham Lincoln)  And lastly, the most important people in my life aren’t athletes and they don’t play sports – they merely put up with my obsession – and for that I’m truly grateful: they’re my friends and family.
